  • Eurosport, Crowd Network and Rocket Sports partner up to produce the 2024 series of Watts Occurring, to be titled Watts Occurring powered by Eurosport
  • INEOS Grenadiers riders Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe to provide alternative commentary for a selection of the biggest races through Eurosport’s channels
  • First podcast episode launches on Tuesday 2 April

Today Eurosport is announced as the official partner of the Watts Occurring powered by Eurosport podcast in a new sponsorship agreement with podcast hosts, Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe, and producers Crowd Network.

Hosted by the 2018 Tour de France winner Thomas alongside INEOS Grenadiers teammate Rowe with contributions from award-winning sports journalist Tom Fordyce, new episodes will be produced throughout the season with a weekly show complemented by daily episodes during the Tour de France.

The critically acclaimed and fan-favourite podcast takes listeners on a tour of the biggest stories from the world of cycling including inside information from Thomas and Rowe’s Monaco-base, training camps and the biggest races on the UCI World Tour calendar.

As part of the agreement, Thomas and Rowe will harness their experience and exclusive insights from the peloton to provide alternative commentary for some of the season’s most anticipated races. Streamed live through Eurosport’s dedicated cycling Instagram channel enabling fans to follow for free, commentary and reaction can be enjoyed alongside Eurosport’s premium television coverage in addition to streaming on discovery+ and Max*.

The INEOS Grenadiers teammates will also make contributions for Eurosport’s English language studio analysis show, The Breakaway, throughout the season with selected clips published on Eurosport.com.

Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe, co-hosts of Watts Occurring powered by Eurosport, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to kick-off a partnership with Eurosport. Watts Occurring has been on a crazy growth journey since joining Crowd Network last year and we’re sure teaming up with Eurosport will help us take the show to another new level. Don’t worry though, we won’t be getting too professional – Luke will still be half-naked on most records, G will still join from the massage table, and we’ll be chatting our usual unfiltered waffle. We can’t wait.”

Mike Carr, CEO of Crowd Network, commented: “Watts Occurring remains one of our most listened-to and loved podcasts. No other cycling podcast gives unique access to two of the best riders whilst racing, and Eurosport is the perfect partner for the show given its extensive cycling coverage. We hope to develop the partnership over future series and help the brand tap into our huge – and growing – audience of cycling lovers.”

Eurosport, part of Warner Bros. Discovery, is known as the Home of Cycling, broadcasting more than 1,000 live cycling events each year including every race on the UCI men’s and women’s World Tour, the UCI World Championships and every moment of the Olympic Games. It recently launched dedicated Eurosport Cycling YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels to bring fans the best cycling content while broadcasting weekly episodes of The Eurosport Cycling Show dedicated to bringing exclusive interviews and stories from the world of cycling to viewers around the world.

The partnership with Eurosport comes as the podcast producers, Crowd Network, continue to work with an increasing number of the world’s biggest brands, including Red Bull (Just Ride) Greenpeace (Oceans: Life Under Water) and Chelsea Football Club (We Are Chelsea).

The new deal was brokered between Eurosport’s Senior Director of Cycling Guy Voisin and Thomas’ commercial agent Jay de Andrade at Rocket Sports.
