Fiona is Senior Vice President, Sport Communications at Discovery with more than two decades of experience leading international campaigns for blue-chip brands, governing bodies, rights holders and world-class athletes. She is responsible for all external and internal communications relating to Discovery Sports and its portfolio of brands. This includes sport on discovery+, Eurosport, Global Cycling Network (GCN), GOLFTV, Golf Digest and Discovery’s Europe-wide presentation of the Olympic Games.

Fiona has driven a consumer-first approach to Discovery Sports’ communications, reflecting the company’s rapid direct-to-consumer growth and transition to a premium multi-platform destination for sports fans and the whole household. Leading an international sports communications team throughout Europe, this approach has helped Discovery Sports and its brands recognised as a leading success story in the industry.

Her role includes leading the communications around all Discovery’s live and on-demand sports content, including Eurosport’s coverage in 75 markets presented by discovery+, the Eurosport App and a range of TV channels including Eurosport 1 & 2. Fiona oversees year-round campaigns that connect consumers with many of the greatest global sports events including every tennis Grand Slam and cycling Grand Tour, premium local football leagues, motorsports and every major winter sports World Cup and World Championship event. 

Fiona led the team that executed Discovery’s multi-market communications function at Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, including the local PR and publicity requirements for 50 countries and territories in the lead up to and during each Games.

Before joining Discovery, Fiona was Head of Sport at global communications agency Weber Shandwick, establishing herself as one of the most respected sport PR practitioners in the industry.
